Sponsor of Positive Schools Conference

19 May 2010

The Positive Schools Conference 2010 is a major event bringing educators and psychologists from around the country to Fremantle, to examine how to better understand and manage mental health issues within our schools and colleges – an increasingly urgent issue.

Sponsored by Teachers Credit Union, the event will take place at the Esplanade Hotel, Fremantle on Friday 21 May 2010.

Speakers taking part include WA Police Commissioner Karl O’Callaghan, renowned US author of ‘Brown Eyes, Blue Eyes’, Jane Elliott, Professor Helen Street of University of Western Australia discussing the importance of teacher social and emotional competency, and Professor Donna Cross, who specialises in Child and Adolescent Health at Edith Cowan University.

“Teachers Credit Union is proud to be a major sponsor of this important initiative, which will focus on finding solutions and achieving sustainable positive outcomes to the issues facing young Australians and their teachers on a daily basis,” said Carolyn Murphy, WA Manager of Teachers Credit Union.
