Here are some of the key highlights of our Corporate Responsibility performance from the 2009 financial year:
Members
- our member satisfaction rating is 93%
- we held 54 Mobile Offices and Business Centres and 40 Home Loan and Investment Seminars
- our CANSTAR CANNEX member valuation result was $229.80 p.a.
- we visited approximately 900 schools and universities
- we were the first Australian credit union to implement EMV Chip Cards, which integrate the latest microchip technology into credit and debit cards
- launched Credit Assistance, a promotion of our existing service of assisting members in financial difficulty
- enhanced our credit card to enable automatic repayment
- won the CANSTAR CANNEX First Home Buyers Award for NSW.
Community
- we invested $496,787 in various initiatives in the education community
- we supported 94 teacher conferences and events, either financially or by providing stationery
- we gave grants to 15 public schools in NSW, ACT, NT and WA for their environmental projects through the Teachers Environment Fund
- awarded 4 scholarships to Future Teachers
- our employees raised $24,765 for various charities including the Cancer Council and Stewart House.

- our employee satisfaction rating is 90% and our turnover rate approximately 8%
- our staff engagement ratings are currently 86% (the global average for financial services industry is 60%)
- we received the 2009 Equal Opportunity for Women in the Workplace Agency (EOWA) Employer of Choice for Women citation
- we won Employer of Choice (fewer than 1000 employees) at the 2008 Australian HR Awards
- 99% of staff agreed we are committed to providing a safe and healthy workplace
- 41% of management are female

Environment
- we reduced our waste to landfill by 34% through the adoption of a comprehensive recycling program
- we recycled 63 tonnes of paper
- we consumed 17,633 litres per full-time equivalent (FTE) employee
- we generated 1975 tonnes of GHG emissions or 5.6 tonnes per FTE employee
- we recycled 323kg of toner cartridges.
